About the Feminist Summer Camp
The Feminist Summer Camp is a Saskatoon-based series of discussions among feminists who want to deepen their practice of feminism. It is about feminists learning from feminists. It is a space to challenge and share in what it means to be a feminist in today's world. It is about exchanging ideas, increasing our confidence as feminists, and building a network of engaged people interested in gender-related social issues. The underlying principle of the FSC is that feminism is a conversation.
In short, the Feminist Summer Camp is a summer-long initiative of weekly knowledge-sharing sessions led by both invited guest speakers and participants who share their experiences, resources, and ideas about a range of topics around feminism. The objective is to create a community of engaged, energized, inspired, mutually supportive feminists who have a strong understanding of the issues affecting women's empowerment and equality and who have the leadership skills to take the conversations beyond the Feminist Summer Camp.
The Feminist Summer Camp encourages participation of feminists along the spectrum of gender identity, ability, age, and education.
In 2015, Feminist Summer Camp is on hiatus. Please check back in the fall for updates.
